- A better way may be to buy a PC case with PSU (for about 40$) make sure you
- get one with some 5 1/4" drive bays accessible...
-
- You can buy these things, I dunno exactly what they are called... they are in
- 2 bits, one fits in a front accessible 5 1/4 bay, and you fix a hard disk
- inside the other bit... you can then swap hard disks whenever you want.
- A guy at work has done this with Linux and Win95 on his PC... On a pc you have
- to use exactly the same drive (same size/sectors/blocks etc) or you have to
- fiddle with the Bios setting when you swap, but on an amiga you shouldnt have
- any problem...
- This works out roughly:
-
- PC case including PSU 40$
- 2*1Gb Scsi HD 600$
- 2*drive holder thingies 40$
-
- These figures are converted from UK prices, I dont know exactly how US prices
- compare...

-
- This is all too true, if only Dat drives were affordable (lucky I can borrow
- one from work) ;)
